Togo cashew and soybean exports 2024

The Togolese Republic, located on the West coast of Africa, possesses considerable production potential due to the diverse climate and vast arable lands. The primary drivers of its economic growth are the agriculture sector and mining resources.

The country produced approximately 34,500 metric tons of cashew nuts in 2024, with most exports destined for India, Vietnam, and China. The area cashew is growing are Plateau, Central, Kara and Savane.

Soybean cultivation is thriving, with production reaching 236,500 metric tons in 2022—a 13.89% increase from the previous year. It’s soybeans are highly sought after in markets such as India, the United States, and Canada. Sorghum, a staple crop, maintains steady production, with 280,000 metric tons projected for the 2024/25 season, meeting both domestic demand and regional export opportunities.

It’s strategic efforts to enhance production, processing, and exports of these key crops are bolstering its role in global agricultural markets while driving sustainable economic growth.
